Move to online bidding-only nears completion for Manitoba Infrastructure

Manitoba Infrastructure continues to streamline its tendering processes and will begin receiving bids for all non-bonded construction and maintenance tenders online, through MI’s procurement service provider MERX starting in April, 2019.

MI began receiving online bids for large-scale construction tenders in February, 2017 and for goods purchases in August, 2018.

This last phase for online bidding will come into effect in April, 2019. With this last phase, almost all of MI’s publicly advertised bid opportunities for goods and construction/maintenance services will now be tendered by online bidding.

To support this change, MI will revise its standard construction tender template and redraft the General Conditions (No. 100) and Bidding Procedures (No. 90). The General Conditions and Bidding Procedures will be posted here: https://www.gov.mb.ca/mit/contracts/manual.html

While MI’s intention is to receive all bids online, MI may still, on occasion, receive some bids in document format. For any of these future document-based bids, MI will no longer receive bids by fax machine.

MI’s bid opportunities can be found here: https://www.merx4.merx.com/mbgov/manitobainfrastructure-bondedtenders
