ABOUT THE MHCA

Founded in 1943, The Manitoba Heavy Construction Association (MHCA) is a non-profit organization advocating the positive relationship between sustainable investment in infrastructure and our quality of life, the economy and the environment.

The Association promotes a safe workplace for industry employees, by providing an expansive safety, health and environment training and education program through its 'Manitoba Heavy Construction Safety Program (MHCSP).'

The Association has established the Manitoba Heavy Construction Training Academy (MHCTA) for the purposes of providing government approved career and vocational training. At present, its mandate focuses on heavy equipment operators but is projected to expand in the near future.

Our membership includes contractors engaged in roadbuilding, sewer & water, excavation, bridge building, the sub trades to contractors and the supply side of industry, including aggregates, petroleum, engineering, heavy equipment, financial and bonding agencies.

Tuesday, 13 October 2009

2010 MHCA Perspectives Magazine2009 marks the 17th consecutive year of publishing the MHCA Annual Magazine, which has been re-named Perspectives for the 2010 edition.

Perspectives is an appropriate new name to attach to this publication which, like the MHCA, is much more than what typically might be associated with the perceptions around trade organizations or associations.

Through informative leading edge articles, Perspectives is designed to advance new public policy, articulate industry positions and views, suggest attention to innovation and speak to safety and environment related issues. Topics raised have included trade, transportation, infrastructure investment, economic growth policies, legislative and regulatory environments.

Highlights include:

  • CentrePort Canada — Canada's First Inland Port Initiative
  • Winnipeg: Yes we can!
  • Manitoba: Steps to a 'Have' Province
  • Manitoba 10, 20, 30 Years from now
